When you give proper care to your teeth, tooth decay is likely to be a forgotten story. Most of the people end up suffering from the effect following the least attention that they give to their teeth. Here are some of the stages of tooth decay that are common to most of the people.
The decay begins when the teeth are exposed to any acid that comes into the mouth and those produced by the bacteria. When the white sport of the teeth starts to gain stain due to the demineralization, it marks the first stage.
The enamel is majorly the surface of the teeth, and when it breaks down, there are higher chances to experience tooth decay. Minerals to the enamel are limited once they are broken and the decay process continues which may not be easy to reverse. This forms the second stage and should the decay persist, the surface of the tooth is likely to break.
In stage three and four, the acid produced by bacteria will take full control of the tooth and may dissolve the enamel to reach the dentine. Upon reaching the dentine, you are likely to start feeling pain and may extend to form a dental cavity is not properly handled. There isn’t a solution other to refill the tooth for it to be restored.
The last stage of the decay is experienced when the bacterial effect reached the pulp and kills the blood vessel. The infection may extend to the root and the conjoining bones making the gums and the tongue to swell. You start experiencing constant pain in the tooth and may only be handled through surgery, and in most case, it leads to tooth loss.
